About Pete Ratings
An independent, free NBA analytics site built on simple, transparent math.
Pete Ratings rates every NBA team from game results and uses those ratings to predict each day's games. It is not affiliated with the NBA, any team, or any sportsbook.
What it stands for
- Numbers, not opinions
- Rankings come from a mathematical model, not from anyone's gut feeling or a panel vote.
- Shown work
- The methodology page explains in plain terms where the numbers come from and what they can't account for.
- Predictions on the record
- Each prediction is published before tip-off and never changed. Wrong picks stay up next to right ones, so the track record is the real one.
- Always being tested
- The model is checked against past seasons and against its own live results. Changes are made only when testing shows they help.
What it is not
Pete Ratings does not promise accurate predictions or winning bets. Basketball games are hard to predict, and even good predictions miss by double digits fairly often. Everything here is for information and entertainment.
Privacy
Pete Ratings has no accounts, ads, cookies, or analytics, and doesn't collect personal information from visitors.
Data
